About Ellen Franken, M.S. CCC-SLP

Speech Language Pathologist and Owner of Sincere Speech Therapy, LLC

Hi! I’m Ellen.

My Approach to Therapy: I’m a licensed speech language pathologist with a sincere belief that everyone has a right to communicate. I’m passionate about working with children to help them find, develop, and nurture their voice (whether that be by speaking, using AAC, signing, or using a combination of different communication methods!).

My approach to therapy is play-based and child-led. I believe in spending ample time building rapport with every child I work with and finding ways to incorporate their special interests and favorite activities into each therapy session.

Family Involvement: In my practice, I prioritize the involvement of families in the therapy process. Families are always welcome to attend sessions with their child. Additionally, time is provided in each session to review the targeted skills as well as strategies to try at home. These strategies promote carryover and generalization of skills learned in therapy. I welcome feedback from families at all points in the therapy process and encourage parent input when developing speech and language goals.

Licenses and Qualifications: I am licensed through the American Speech Language Hearing Association (ASHA) as well as in the states of Kansas, Missouri, and Texas. I have completed continuing education coursework on Gestalt Language Processing/Natural Language Acquisition through Meaningful Speech, neurodiversity affirming therapy approaches through Learn Play Thrive, and play-based speech therapy approaches through The Ultimate Play Based Speech Therapy Course. I am passionate about continuing to learn and grow my skills, and I prioritize completing at least 25 hours of continuing education per year (whereas ASHA requires only 10 hours per year).

Free Consultations: I offer free 15-minute phone consultations to discuss your questions and concerns. I would love to talk more with you about my approach to speech and language therapy, and help you determine if I would be a good fit for your child and family!
